TEACHINGS

The Unerring Practice of Dharma
by His Holiness The 17th Gyalwa Karmapa
In order for our dharma practice to be unerring, we must approach it in stages and have those stages in the correct order. Some people might approach the dharma by skipping over the many practices that need to be done as preliminaries in the beginning, and instead proceed directly to
the practices of mahamudra and dzogchen. This is a faulty approach, one that
will not bring forth any beneficial result.

The Five Buddha Families
Unmasking Wisdom: The Five Buddha Families and the Eight
Consciousnesses

by Ven. Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche
The essential task of a bodhisattva is to develop the enlightened qualities of the five Buddha families. These qualities pervade and are part of every sentient being without exception, but they are masked. To achieve the realization of these five Buddha families, we must eliminate the five obscuring emotions of anger, attachment, ignorance, pride, and envy.

Flash of Wisdom
The One Nature of the Five Wisdoms of the Buddha

by The Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche
Both awareness and ignorance are a display, a magical illusion. When we
recognize the display, we experience the magical illusion of nirvana; without this recognition, we experience the magical illusion of samsara. It is like an electric switch. If we turn it off, then we have darkness, ignorance. If we turn it on, then we have light, luminosity. It is just how we flip the switch.

SOCIETY AND ENVIRONMENT

Mudra Space Awareness:
Practice for Intense Times
by Lee Worley
Mudra Space Awareness is a way to practice working more skillfully
with space because we are aspiring to experience reality fully, properly, precisely. Only when we can meet space on its own terms are we able to have the fearlessness to remain present in intense and difficult seeming situations and work creatively for the benefit of the beings involved.
