Dear Sangha Friends,Welcome to our third issue of Bodhi, a newsletter begun only a short time ago to serve as a
vehicle for the teaching activities and projects of The Dzogchen Ponlop, Rinpoche, and to encourage communication among Rinpoche's students.
Since that recent beginning, we have seen several changes. Bodhi now serves as a vehicle for the teachings and instructions of both the Venerable Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and The Dzogchen Ponlop, Rinpoche. We have grown in size with each issue. The current issue is more than twice the size of our first. With an increase in the activities of the
Nalandabodhi sangha, Bodhi is becoming an important means of communicating to students far and wide. And most recently, the Bodhi office has moved from Boulder, Colorado, to Seattle, Washington, where a new Nalandabodhi sangha is forming.
This issue contains two exceptional teachings by Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche and The
Dzogchen Ponlop, Rinpoche on view and practice, as well as an interview with Acharya Tenpa Gyaltsen, sangha reports and other student contributions. Of special interest are the dual announcements of the proposed Nalandabodhi Educational and Retreat Center in Washington state and the First Nalandabodhi Sangha Retreat with The Dzogchen Ponlop, Rinpoche.
Thank you for your continued support as this process of change leads us
into new and interesting areas. The editors would like to particularly thank Thomas Hewitt Brooks of Seattle for his valuable and prodigious assistance with this issue. From Seattle, we have this reflection:
"A newcomer to Seattle arrives on a rainy day. She gets up the next day and it's raining. It also rains the day after that, and the day after that. One day, she goes out for coffee and sees a young kid and asks in dismay, 'Hey kid,
does it ever stop raining around here?' The kid says, 'How do I know? I'm only 6.'"
Yours in the Bodhi-dharma,
The Editors
